Night Respite

sleepless nights don't have to be part of parenthood
Mother and Baby Sleeping
what is night respite?

Parenthood doesn't adhere to a 9-to-5 schedule, which is why we offer overnight respite services to provide exhausted parents with the opportunity to rest and recharge. Let us care for your little one while you catch up on much-needed sleep, knowing that your baby is in capable and loving hands.

Whether you're exclusively breastfeeding or using other feeding methods, our priority is ensuring you get the rest you need while keeping your baby happy, comfortable, and well-cared for. We'll work together to create a sleep plan that meets your family's needs, providing support and guidance every step of the way. Our goal is to empower you to enjoy restful nights and precious moments with your newborn.

how does night respite work?

Choose a time in the evening or night that works best for your family. This is when the four hour period will begin.

Choose whether to have your newborn specialist complete your little one's night routine, work with you to complete it, or complete it on your own prior to heading to bed.

Focus on getting deep, restful sleep while knowing there is someone keeping your little one calm, comforted, and well cared for.

If your baby wakes to feed, we can do a variety of different things including, but not limited to, preparing a breastmilk or formula bottle, bringing baby to you to night nurse, or having you come to baby. Once baby is fed, you go right back to sleep and we will patiently and lovingly sooth your little back to sleep.

We will do our best to address your concerns and, if necessary, offer additional time or services to ensure your satisfaction. Your happiness and confidence in our services are our top priorities. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise during childbirth, and some doulas may have a strict "no fault" policy if they are unable to attend due to birthing circumstances. However, at Rooted Birth Collective, we prioritize creating a supportive and stress-free environment for your birthing experience. While we will make every effort to avoid such situations, if circumstances arise that prevent us from attending your birth, we will offer postpartum services free of charge to continue supporting you during this important time. • What is placenta encapsulation, and what are its benefits?
Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the placenta for consumption in capsule form. Many people believe that consuming placenta capsules can help balance hormones, increase energy levels, support postpartum recovery, and enhance milk supply.
  • How many placenta pills will I receive?
The number of placenta pills produced can vary depending on the size of the placenta, but on average, it typically yields between 80 to 160 pills.
  • What are the sterile measures that take place during placenta encapsulation?
We are trained placenta preparation professionals. We have completed an OSHA-approved Blood Borne Pathogen & Infection Control Training and hold Texas Food Handler's Certifications. The preparation area will be thoroughly disinfected prior to placenta processing, and all supplies will be sterilized before use.
  • What will my placenta come packaged in?
Your placenta capsules will come in an air-tight, food-safe container.
  • How do I prepare my placenta for transport?
If birthing in the hospital, your care team should be able to provide you with a plastic container to hold your placenta. Otherwise we suggest simply using a double bagging method with traditional ziploc bags. PLEASE NOTE: Your placenta should be refrigerated, or put on ice, when possible; and should not be at room temperature for more than a few hours. Additionally, if the placenta can not be transported within 24 hours of delivery, we recommend moving the placenta to the freezer.
  • How long will it take to get my encapsulated placenta returned to me?
We guarantee your processed placenta within the first week postpartum, however the typical turn around time is 2-3 days.
  • Are there times where my placenta can not be used?
There are certain circumstances where a placenta may not be suitable for encapsulation, such as if there are signs of infection during labor and delivery (chorioamnionitis), if the mother knowingly utilized drugs during the pregnancy, if the placenta was not handled or stored properly, or if there are any abnormalities or concerns identified during examination.
  • What happens if I pay for placenta services and the placenta is not able to be used?
Our approach is to assess each situation here individually. Typically if the placenta is deemed non-consumable, due to circumstances outside of your control, we will do our best to either provide a refund or offer an alternative service. However refunds will not be provided for issues that resulted from client error or negligence.
  • What is a doula, and how can they support me during labor and birth?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing individuals and their families before, during, and after childbirth. Doulas offer continuous support throughout labor, helping to alleviate discomfort, provide encouragement, and advocate for your birth preferences.
  • What are the benefits of hiring a doula for my birth?
Research has shown that having a doula present during labor and birth can lead to shorter labors, reduced risk of medical interventions, increased satisfaction with the birth experience, and improved outcomes for both birthing individuals and babies.
  • How do I know if I need postpartum doula support?
Postpartum doula support can be beneficial for any family adjusting to life with a new baby. Whether you need assistance with newborn care, breastfeeding support, household tasks, or emotional guidance, a postpartum doula can provide invaluable support during this transitional time.
